Umoja Community

Project Overview

Umoja is a student learning community that is dedicated to experiences educational and of African American students. Umoja came to me asked me redesign look and feel of their website, along various other outcomes. in essence they to be more geared toward the student they want to reach.

By using a combination of bold colors from the African diaspora and contrasting sans serif was reminiscent of the "I am a man" civil rights poster. I used the typeface Newbery San Pro as the title case throughout the website to convey a sense of strength and empowerment. when I redesigning the website I used a simplified typography approach when pivoting to the new design, keeping in mind that it need easy navigate be straight to the point.
